Free remove pcadprotector driver

A project to implement an open source driver for Apple powerbooks. The project was started as an alternative to SideTrack (which isn't free) and an improvement upon iScroll2. It acheives its advanced features by running the trackpad in what is called "absolute" mode. This means that the driver can tell exactly what part of the pad your finger is touching. The Apple driver (and iScroll2) both run the pad in "relative" mode, and while that facilitates a simpler driver because the pad does most of the work, it is very limiting of what you can do.
Most notably running in "absolute" mode allows the driver:

• Two-finger scrolling like the new Apple laptops with the new USB trackpads;
• Linear scroll regions that can be placed anywhere. This adds the functionality of a scroll-wheel;
• Hotspots to bind taps in the corners of the trackpad to alternate mouse buttons;
• Ability to remap the physical button to perform any type of mouse click.
  The driver is NOT designed for use with the new 2005 PowerBooks nor is it based upon the newer driver for them. It is entirely based upon the original Darwin ADB trackpad driver with the information for how to activate "absolute" mode taken from the ScrollPad project. The preferences daemon and the two-finger scrolling code is taken from the iScroll2 project as we didn't really want to reinvent the whole wheel. At some point we intend to remove the iScroll2 scroll code, though. We believe it is possible to make the code much better if it utilises absolute coordinate information instead of just relative movement.

The professional user can adjust any operation via numerical input and can precisely monitor the results using a densitometer. The ScanPilot helps the novice user step by step to a brilliant image.

• AACO - Auto Adaptive Contrast Optimisation An excellent tool for the correction of dark, high-contrast areas of an image while preserving the details in the highlights. It operates automatically when selected but can also be manually adjusted. The intensity and the complexity of the shadows, which are to be lightened, can be adjusted without affecting the highlights of the image.
• Extended print dialog with copy function
• This new function offers the possibility of printing images or image parts selected in the preview. The selection can be scaled, rotated or positioned manually on the print sheet. Also a 1:1 print-out, similar to a photocopy, is possible. The position of the images on the print sheet is pre-set by the position on the scan screen, but can also be manually adjusted by the user.
• Picture Setting Dialog This dialog displays a real-time output histogram that shows the effects of all SilverFast Ai Studio settings on the final scan.
• Clone Tool A powerful 16-bit Clone Tool which extends the previously implemented SRD function has now been developed. Major defects and severe scratches on the image may easily be removed or corrected. Entire areas of the image may be removed, retouched and altered. SilverFast Ai Studio may now be used for complex catalog production - without the need for additional imaging programs or tools
• Unsharp mask PLUS The USM dialog and its preview windows may now be freely resized and enlarged by click-dragging the lower right corner of the window. Now a better control of the image is achieved before scanning which allows a much larger preview of the final sharpening effects
• JPEG 2000 support The support of the JPEG 2000 format enables SilverFast's strongest compression to process such data up to 7 times faster than any other imaging software. In combination with SilverFast 's HiRePP function even 3GB files may be compressed and re-opened very quickly.

The UltraTek/66 card can be installed by simply running the SoftRAID Installer, attaching the UltraTek/66 in a PCI slot and linking the cables provided in the package to the drives. When used with IBM's latest 7200RPM 75GXP DeskStar series of ultra-ATA/66 hard drive mechanisms, performance is equivalent to Ultra2 SCSI, for a total solution cost of about half of typical SCSI solutions. In addition, SoftRAID provides RAID levels 0 and 1 (striping and mirroring) simultaneously. Striping provides increased capacity and performance while mirroring provides redundancy with duplicate data on separate drive mechanisms.

"The story behind this issue is that the card OEM manufacturer unexpectidly did replace the on-board EEPROM from ATMEL to WINBOND brand. The version 1.1.2 was made to support ATMEL because at the time it was written WINBOND wasn't an option. The unexpected hardware change came after the 1.1.2 was posted on the Web. After OEM realized the mistake it did provide us the new specifications. Our marketing partner (VST Technologies) had to remove the 1.1.2 from their web site. The newly posted 1.1.2w does support both ATMEL and WINBOND EEPROM and we got no reports regarding 1.1.2w issues."
