Free fix problem driver

Griffin iMate Driver performs most of the functions of the ADB manager. It allows ADB devices that require custom drivers to operate on an iMac or on any Mac with a USB card. Hardware dongles, drawing tablets, and joysticks require the iMate driver to operate. This version fixes a problem where the iMate control panel would sometimes not work when the iMate was connected to a USB hub.

This software is not the device driver for FR1SX. As the device driver is already included in MacOS, you don't need to install the special driver for FR1SX. If your FR1SX is working well with SCSI devices, you don't need to install and use this Utility. But if you have come across some SCSI trouble, please try this Utility. It will provide some good solution to fix them. This Utility is the special software to fix some compatibility issues with SCSI scanners, tape drives and old SCSI-I devices by adjusting SCSI configuration parameters of FR1SX. To pursue it, the Utility also requires to MacOS to treat FR1SX as the 'Special FireWire Device' and overrides FireWire drivers with the unique drivers for FR1SX. This means you must restore FireWire drivers after ending this Utility and restart the system to use SCSI device with FR1SX again. You must follow the instructions shown by the software carefully when using it. And then must restart the system after ending it.

This update is for Xserve servers and PowerBook computers with an internal slot-loading Combo drive. It installs new firmware on PowerBook and Xserve Combo drives. The update prevents Combo drives from intermittently failing to eject discs. It's recommended that you install this update to ensure that your Combo drive avoids this problem.

If you are using a 68040-based Macintosh, you should download and install this patch. It corrects a problem where launching applications located on the network would cause the computer to freeze or crash.

NEC-Mitsubishi has identified a compatibility issue between some models of display monitors and some Apple Macintosh G4 computers that causes the display monitor to remain off after a restart or powering up after shutdown. On certain versions of the Mac OS ROM, this will only occur if the G4 has been in sleep mode. NEC-Mitsubishi has identified the cause as an incompatibility in the Mac G4s with OS 9.0.4 and Mac OS ROMs versions 4.9.1, 5.2.1 and 5.5.1, and Mac OS 9.1 Upgrade with Mac OS ROM 6.1. This causes "power off" commands to be sent to the monitor on shutdown and restart, however no matching "power on" command is sent instructing the monitor to wake up as the Mac powers up. The problem only appears on certain monitors because they support an optional industry standard alternate power command system that has been introduced on the new G4s. It is important to note that the monitor is functioning normally and is just following commands sent from the Mac. The following Mitsubishi monitors are affected by this issue:

This Sonnet firmware update adjusts specific logic memory timing parameters on the Crescendo/WS processor upgrade card to fix operation instability resulting from installation of certain combinations of DIMM (RAM) modules. This firmware update also boosts the maximum supported memory on the Crescendo/WS from 192MB to 512MB.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have wiped out the contents of the /var/spool/cups folder in order to get printing restored, you need to recreate the /var/spool/cups/tmp folder and give it the proper privileges as follows:

• sudo mkdir /var/spool/cups/tmp
• sudo chown daemon:admin /var/spool/cups/tmp
• sudo chmod 1700 /var/spool/cups/tmp

This procedure will be handled by the installer in the next release.
Disclaimer:
Since this software replaces the IPP backend that ships with Jaguar (the original is saved with a ".orig" extension so that the software can be uninstalled), it should only be installed if you have non-OS X print servers and you are attempting to print to them from an OS X machine using Internet Printing Protocol (IPP). It should work just as well as the original for OS X servers, but I make no guarantees.
Description:
This is a little hack I threw together out of annoyance. It addresses a problem with certain Carbon apps and a custom print filter in Jaguar's CUPS distribution (Panther corrects this problem). Specifically, certain Carbon apps, including Adobe Acrobat Reader, produce print jobs in a PICT-encoded Postscript format. On OS X machines, the custom pictwpstops filter converts the job to straight Postscript before the normal CUPS filters get ahold of it.
Because of the way CUPS works, that conversion is done on the server side for remote (shared) printers. As long as the server is running OS X, the job is accepted and prints. However, if the server does not run OS X, e.g. a Linux server, it doesn't know what to do with a PICT-encoded Postscript file, so it just rejects the request. On the OS X side, Print Center repeatedly attempts to send the job to the server without success. This causes the job to hang up in the local queue but, because the printer is remote, the job is not cancelable.
This software fixes that problem by pre-filtering PICT-encoded Postscript into straight Postscript (which is a format recognized by all IPP print servers) using Apple's custom filter before sending the print job to the server.
