Network Software Installer 1.5.1 was the last release of the software which controls network operations (such as file sharing) before being folded into System 7.5 and later. B) If the Archos device in Windows Explorer is shown as a "Portable Media Device" then you need to paste the update file into the first DATA folder.
Step 5. Disconnect the Device
In "Hard Drive" mode , use the "safe disconnect" green arrow icon in the system tray before unplugging the USB cable. In "Windows Device" mode , simply unplug the USB cable.
Step 6. Plug the adapter/charger into your ARCHOS device
Step 7. On your ARCHOS device, click on "Update Firmware"
From the main ARCHOS menu, click on "setup" or "settings", then click on the "System" icon, and finally highlight and click on the "Update Firmware" button.
Caution: For technical reasons, this release of the Operating System (OS) will not allow a downgrade beyond version 1.5.12. If you feel you do not need the improvements brought by this release or want to be able to downgrade to a previously released version, then you should not upgrade your product with this release.
