Available in this download is the latest BIOS update for Abit AT7 motherboard. The update features support for AMD Athlon XP2400+ and XP2600+. Version ed has changed the default year after clear CMOS to 2003. Added AMD Duron 1400(133)/1600(133)/1800(133) support. Changed the wording DDR SDRAM at DIMM to DDR at DIMM in order to match the wording on the PCB.

The iBook Firmware Update 4.1.7 will only run on iBook computers running Mac OS 9.1 from a local drive. If you are using Mac OS X you must boot from a local Mac OS 9.1 writeable partition (not a CD, or network disk) prior to following the update instructions. Firmware Update 4.1.7 includes improvements to Firewire target disk mode, network booting, gigabit networking (on systems with gigabit hardware), and system stability. This update also adds support for additional security options which allow the Open Firmware to be password protected. This update also contains changes from earlier Firmware Updates. This update adds support for 256 megabyte (MB) memory modules and improved support for using a USB storage device, such as an external hard drive, as a startup disk.
It appears most RAM vendors will replace RAM if you find yours has been disabled by this firmware.

The update changes a HPT 374 BIOS from 1.1 to 1.22 to fix a special boot sequence issue: when PS/2 keyboard and mouse are used simultaneously; HDD attached to IDE 3 or 4; CDROM attached to IDE2, booting up from Win 98SE floppy disk will fail to find some system files.
Version e8 has updated CPU micro code. Added new 80C/85C/90C options in CPU shutdown temperature. Changed the default setting of CPU warning temperature to 85C. Updated HPT 274 BIOS to version 1.23.
