This update also adds support for additional security options which allow the Open Firmware to be password protected.
The iMac Firmware Update 4.1.9 will only run on iMac computers with slot-loading CD or DVD drives running Mac OS 9.1 or later from a local drive. Once the firmware is loaded, the EMI 2|6 is available under Mac OS X using Mac OS X's built-in USB Audio Driver. Open the control panel "System Preferences > Sound" to choose the EMI 2|6 as the main system output. All signals, e.g. from iTunes, will then be played back via Channel 1 and 2 of the EMI 2|6.
