Clearnvs.exe is a utility provided to help in the troubleshooting and resolution of issues related to desktop 486 and Pentium systems' plug and play BIOS area. This utility has not been tested for use with Gateway 2000 portable systems. It is intended for use with Gateway 2000 486 (P4D), Pentium (P5), and Pentium Pro (G6) desktop systems that have a plug and play BIOS.

The current driver package for your Gateway Solo 5100 touchpad, operating under Windows 95, supports Chassis Rev code G1.0-G4.5.

The BIOS revision 1.00.06.CY1T is the BIOS update for the Intel ""Tigereye"" motherboards, which include the following part numbers: MBDSAC032AxWW, MBDSAC033AxWW, MBDSAC035AxWW, MBDSAC036AxWW, and MBDSAC037AxWW. The 1.00.08.CY1T BIOS is released for increased INT13 functionality (relating to bootable CDs and faster boot times), added additional DMI support, implementation of APM version 1.2 support and ""Secure Flash."" This BIOS will work for the P5-100, P5-120, P5-133, P5-166, and P5-200 systems based on the ""Tigereye"" motherboards (CY1T series BIOS).

Warning: If your Gateway 2000 computer is updated with the incorrect BIOS, it may render your system unusable. If you're unsure as to which BIOS you need, reboot your system. The BIOS information will be displayed almost immediately. The suffix of the BIOS will indicate which update is correct for your system (for example, CN0T, CY1T, and so on).

The current driver package is used to save and update flash memory. It is recommended that this utility be executed from a bootable DOS disk that contains BIOS recovery files for the target system (that is, BIOS.REC). This utility must be executed in a system without memory managers installed. If EMM386, QEMM, 386MAX, or Windows is active, then the flash update is not safe. Remove any memory manager or exit Windows before executing the Flash Memory Update Utility. If you do not already have a BIOS with the extension of .AX1T, you must first update the BIOS using P5AX1T.EXE.
