It is not necessary to upgrade to this version if your existing version works well. The 3200 dpi medium format support only applies to the Precision II scanner shipping prior to 12/99. Do not attempt to re-callibrate your scanner to 3200 dpi if your scanner already has this optical underline in the ColorFlex resolution drop down menu. Additionally, the Precision 1 is NOT upgradeable to 3200 dpi. Any attempt to do so may damage your scanner's optical zooming system. When upgrading to this version from 1.8.x or earlier it is recommended that you install it in a new folder. Custom settings that were made with earlier versions should be dragged from the old Settings folder to the folder named User Defined located in the 1.9 settings folder. You should not run any newer and older version at any time on the same computer. Trash the ColorFlex preference file before starting the new software installation. Upgrade to OS 8.5 and ColorSync 2.6.1 is a must. Do not attemp to install this software on your system without meeting those requirement.

This OS X driver supports interleave mode. The DIGI96 series cards should therefore work with any audio software under OS X.

The driver has been adapted to the meet the capabilities of OS X. When operating the card, the user has to change the output format (ADAT or SPDIF) in the Settings dialog. The input format is detected automatically. SPDIF always uses channels 1+2. Nevertheless the card shows up as 8-channel device all the time.

The latency under CoreAudio no longer depends on the card's hardware buffer. Therefore, with faster computers, it is now possible to use the DIGI96 series cards at latencies down to 1.5 ms (64 samples), while under OS 9.x and Windows the lowest latency is 5.8 ms.

Mouse Emulated is one pixel precise while fast. The buttons can be configured, and it can be toggled on and off. This is a very good mouse emulator to have. If your mouse is broken, and you need a fast and precise mouse emulator, then Mouse Emulated is what you need.

Version 1.5 includes visual change, button configurations can be seen in the window, it shows the left, right, up, down, left button, middle button, right button, toggle button, and does not currently show the left drag, middle drag, and right drag right now, another change is the windows API minimize, maximize and close buttons have been turned off, because Mouse Emulated would freeze, and freeze the OS when Mouse Emulated was used to click on any of those options.

FireWire 2.3.3 is a component of the Mac OS. The FireWire 2.3.3 software includes three system extensions:

• FireWire Support: This extension adds services to the Mac OS to support the use of FireWire hardware and software
• FireWire Enabler: This extension adds hardware-specific support for certain FireWire interfaces
• FireWire CardBus Enabler: This extension adds hardware-specific support for the Newer FireWire 2 Go CardBus interface, for use with PowerBook computers

Note: To use FireWire 2.5, you need a Macintosh computer with built-in FireWire ports, or at least one FireWire PCI card or CardBus card installed. To use FireWire 2.5 on a blue-and-white Power Macintosh G3, you should first install Mac OS 9 or the G3 Firmware Update 1.0.2 or 1.1. This software provides PCI performance adjustments that are necessary for maximum FireWire performance.
