ExactScan 2.7 provides Software & drivers for many scanners for Apple's Mac OS X platform. With over 170 built-in drivers for certified document scanners from Avision, Kodak, Oki, Visioneer and Xerox. Sophisticated image enhancement algorithms and filing for everyone at your fingertip.

Via the built-in TWAIN bridge ExactScan also allows to scan with many third-party scanners that come with an OS X compatible TWAIN data source.

All ExactScan versions are compatible with OCR software: Adobe Acrobat, Iris ReadIris and Omnipage as well as the document management solution DEVONtechologies Devonthink - for a comfortable and streamlined office workflow with Mac OS X.

Major Features:

The ExactScan batch scan application is written as native, universal binary, Cocoa application, without Carbon or other compatibility code. It was designed for high performance batch scanning from an Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) for a seamless automatic document scanning experience, every day.

Supported & compatible scanners

ExactScan supports a variety of entry-level to mid-range document scanners from various manufactures, including: Avision, Kodak, Oki, Visioneer and Xerox.

The scanner driver for those supported scanners built into ExactScan. So ExactScan is the driver for your scanner hardware and no additional software is required. In fact ExactScan 2 can even act as a TWAIN driver and allow scanning from third party applications, or to push the resulting image files into third party applications that do not suppot the TWAIN or Image Capture interface themselves.

Below you find a collection of supported scanners for your reference and help selecting the device that suites best for your needs:

ppm: Pages Per Minute, manufacturer specification (A4 size @200dpi, b&w),

ipm: Images Per Minute, manufacturer specification (A4 size @200dpi, b&w), indicating duplex scanner if listed, usually twice the pages per minute (ppm) rating

Indicated speed ratings are maximal hardware limits as specified by the manufacturer under test-lab conditions and may vary with hardware revision, Macintosh hardware, operating system version and ExactScan software version.

TWAIN compatible

ExactScan comes with ExactCODE's drivers for document scanners that finally allow utilizing those scanner for which otherwise no Mac driver is available from the original manufacture.

However, many entry-level flatbed and multi function devices already come with a Mac TWAIN driver included. To allow utilizing these devices from within ExactScan for filing, image enhancements and the advanced recognition features of the Pro version the TWAIN interface is also supported for acquiring images from third party scanners.
